Lingerace Beach Volleyball Tournament

One of our favorite beach volleyball tournaments to participate in is a women’s all levels fundraiser at Ocean Park Beach in Santa Monica called Lingerace.  Lingerace has been around for 5 years and raises money and awareness for local charities and for beach volleyball court maintenance.  This is basically a fun day where everyone dresses in lingerie style costumes and plays a round robin style beach volleyball tournament for the chance to win cash and prizes.

This year’s tournament benefited the California Oncology Research Institute and was co-located with the Perry’s Open creating a two-day festival like atmosphere.  The winning team received a $1,000 cash prize (not bad for a day at the beach!) and a free hotel stay in Venice among other prices.

For the past two years Sibylle and I have had a great time participating both as event sponsors as well as players.
